Three big events converge on Harley-Davidson of
Ocean City Sunday, Oct. 15. The events will fill the
parking lot with big-hearted people and a big-time
custom bike builder. Doug Keim, owner of Creative
Cycles and the star of the soon to be aired ‘‘Metric
Revolution’’ television show, will be at Harley-
Davidson of Ocean City all day on the 15th
displaying the kind of creations that made him a hit
at Delmarva Bike Week® 2005 and Beast of the East
2006. Keim missed Delmarva Bike Week® this year
due to taping of his TV show.
Joining him in the morning will be the Marine Corps
Reserve Toys for Tots motorcycle toy run.
Registration is from 9:30 to noon with a 12:30 ride.
The cost is a new unwrapped toy or $10 donation.
The ride leaves HDOC and heads to the American
Legion Post 64 in Salisbury for food, live music and a
cash bar.
Along the ride, the group will pass the Wheels That
Heal Car Club, on its way to Harley-Davidson of
Ocean City for its annual Cruise for a Cause car show
and charity auction. The Wheels That Heal will meet
at the K-Mart Shopping Center in Salisbury from 10
a.m. to noon where cars (and motor- cycles) can
register for this fundraiser ride and show. A donation
of $20 is encouraged and dash plaques go to the first
150 registered vehicles.
Then at 12:30 p.m., the ride leaves and cruises to
HDOC for a car and bike show. There will be door
prizes, a bake sale and an auction with all the
proceeds going to the medical bills of a 16-year-old
Easton girl who was burned over 50 percent of her
body Memorial Day Weekend.
All models of cars and motorcycles are invited to join
both events. If you can’t attend and would like to
donate, contact Clay with the toy run
(443-235-5910 / lonebikerdude@aol.com), Steve
with the
Wheels That Heal (410-749-5746 /
www.wheelsthatheal.com) or Bruce at HDOC
(410-629-1599).

| Endless Summer Cruisin' |

With Delmarva Bike Week® in our rearview mirror, its
time to welcome the cars back to Harley-Davidson of
Ocean City. The Endless Summer Cruisein comes to
Ocean City Oct. 5-8 and Harley-Davidson of Ocean
City helps sponsor the event and holds shows in
conjunction with it.
Starting with the Early Bird Show Wednesday, Oct. 4,
hot rods of all classes are welcome from 3:30 to 6
p.m. DJ music and hot food will be a part of the
afternoon with dash plaques given out to the first
100 to register.
Then on Thursday we move to the evening with a
show for 1957 and older cars from 5 to 8 p.m. Cars
registered with the Endless Summer Cruisin' can
enter the show and park in front of the Harley shop,
while other cars and visitors can use the side and
back.
On Friday, it’s the 1958 and newer cars and live
music from Daryl Davis, the king of boogie-woogie
music and the keyboard player for Chuck Berry.
Saturday night is trailer trash night – a chance for
the high performance cars to show off. Music will
come from Cherry Bud, a talented group
whose musical diversity is astounding.
Bring your hot rod out to the show, or just stop by to
enjoy the cars, live music and maybe pick up an extra
Delmarva Bike Week® t-shirt.

Were you one of the brave? The ‘true’ biker who
came to Delmarva Bike Week®? We had a bit of rain,
and a beautiful Saturday afternoon and Sunday
bringing nearly 80,000 people to Delmarva Bike
Week®, held ONLY at Ocean Downs Racetrack. If
you didn’t make it, Delmarva Bike Week®
t-shirts, official event pins and DBW/Wild Bill's Steel
mugs are available at Harley-Davidson of Ocean City,
while supplies last.
While rain washed out Thursday's musical lineup, the
combination of Blackfoot Friday night and Foghat
Saturday capped an amazing day of true die-hards
coming out to support the event. Vendors were
ecstatic that so many people came out to enjoy the
show during conditions that would have shutdown
most shows – a testament to the spirit of Delmarva
Bike Week®.
Delmarva Bike Week® will return in 2007 on Sept. 13-
16. More sponsors – individual and business – are
needed to produce this lineup of music and builders
for 2007 and many more employees are needed. If
you didn’t get a chance to pull a shift at Delmarva
Bike Week®, make sure and contact Benet by e-mail
or in person once June rolls around. More help is
needed all around to keep the event at the level it is
or to expand it larger.
Check back often at

updates on 2007.

H-D Toy Run |

There is a new twist to the Seaford/Blades Charities
Toy Run sponsored by Harley-Davidson of Ocean City
and Harley-Davidson of Seaford. The date is set for
Oct. 22 and the ride will leave from HDOC and finish
at HD Seaford, but the twist is that it will not be a
normal ride – it will be a scavenger hunt.
We’ll still do registration at HDOC and the cost will be
$10 or a new, unwrapped toy per person (not per
bike) and at the end of the run at HDS there will be
refreshments. Its along the way that things will be
more interesting and there will not be one big group
heading out as one this year.
Keep the date open on your calendar – Oct. 22 – and
be prepared for plenty of surprises.
If you are tied up that day and can’t attend, please
stop by Harley-Davidson of Ocean City or Seaford
before hand and make a donation to the
Seaford/Blades Charities toy fund.
