The giving spirit began early this year at Harley-Davidson of Ocean City with an October to remember. The charitable month was capped off with our own Scavenger Hunt/Toy Run Oct. 22. More than one hundred Harley-Davidson riders gathered at HDOC, braved chilly temperatures and stiff winds to follow the cryptic trail to Harley-Davidson of Seaford. When it was all said and done, more than $700 and a couple of bags of new toys were donated to the Seaford/Blades Charities from the warm-hearted riders.

The October of kindness actually began Oct. 15 when the Marine Corps Reserve League held its annual Toys For Tots Ride, beginning at HDOC. More than 300 riders donated over $2,000 to the program, all for a chance to help the long-running program and also join Santa Claus for a Maryland State Police-escorted ride to the American Legion in Salisbury.

That particular ride left the shop at 12:30; barely 30 minutes later the Wheels That Heal Car Club's annual Cruise for a Cause rolled into Harley-Davidson of Ocean City. More than 100 custom and pristine classic cars joined together for ride, show and auction which raised more than $7,000 for an Easton girl burned in the spring of this year.
